On another note, I liked Kuro's characterization in Exet's game. She's introduced as a rather cold, even villain-like person who dismisses Albert's wishes with ease, but then goes full hero-mode complete with triumphant music as she calls in her disciples to help save Leah.

Have you forgotten that in this setting it is monsters who invented white magic? Greilia has saved more lives than Mimil's combat magic ever could. Not to mention all the lives Saphirette has saved.

Mimil's "genius" was in fighting with magic. She wasn't some great inventor.

Do I like what Mimil became when monsterized? No, but it was her choice to become like that. No monster made her hate responsibility or made her want to forget magic, those were things that were a part of her.
