You have a point. But you should realize that that is not the purpose nor symbolic meaning put forth into the fumo by its designer. The fumo does not attempt to emulate reality at all, nor any semblance of grandeur or impressive grace. In contrast, the fumo is humble and simplistic in its form and image: it pays full respect to the figure it represents, never exceeding its place as a minimalized icon. The fumo is an example of perfection achieved not by adding till there is nothing to add, but by taking away till there is no more to take away.
