There is just something about Fubuki and Botan that makes me absolutely crave seeing them in a 1 on 1 collab, even more so if it's competitive or at least you can fuck something up. For the longest time FBK was the pillar of Hololive, the reliable girl who has to be strong and carry the weight of all the trouble on her shoulders, the Optimus Prime of the group, the one who would jump into the fray first instead of relying on others, being basically alone in this position until Coco shared it. She was also enough of a gamer to actually get a GAMERS division just to have more game-oriented friends to hang out with, which eventually went nowhere outside of those hangouts, but she still does have some gamer cred to her name. And then, enter the Lion. In comes Shishiro Botan, an actually strong person, forged through hardship and rough life, with none of the rosy "a girl that is trying to be" bullshit, a full on gamer who threw thousands of hours of effort into the grinder, probably getting a number of health conditions along the way, someone who's intentionally holding herself back and toning down her very presence not to impose on the other girls, the very image of what Fubuki tried to be. And, as time goes, the fox strays from that more and more, tail hung dejectedly low, with cute defeated fox noises.
It's a testament to how smooth of an operator Botan is that SENPAITACHI OKBR happened at all, that with this glaring contrast in full display they still stood side by side, Fubuki telling herself something along the way of "striving to be more like her"/"it's sad to compare"/"it's all in my head", and the scene where because Subaru has no idea how FPS games work her entire team apologized to the winners, and Fubuki shyly said her part, I had such a rampaging erection I don't recall the last time ever happened. Just to have these two playing together, with Botan throwing her usual soft jabs at Fubuki, to catch a slightest glimpse of Fubuki's real feelings on the matter would be all I really want. And also, possibly, get FBK to actually sort out her issues with that.
Also, Fubuki talking how she didn't train much for this year's MK tournament but it still hurt to lose is basically all in the same vein, I feel like the fox clearly has some self-searching to do, and if it's triggered this way it would be all the more entertaining. All that being said, Botan just might be aware of all this shit already and help Fubuki get over it in some boring way possibly off-stream, but then again a man can dream.
