The main issue I think a lot of people have with Alps is that similar to the deal with the Siths, KC made Alps with the intention of pandering to an extremely niche fetish community. I mean, yeah, logistically it solves the tranny and faggot problem in the real world when compared to MGE but a lot of times the naiveté that a male character who's now a chick has goes from 'well, okay, I guess that's feasible' to 'why the fuck are they all this goddamned stupid?'. Take the pages of that doujin I linked. Before the vanilla and admittedly completely predictable childhood friend dicking, the Alp was fully convinced that the baseball team wanted them as their cheerleader, not cum toilet, and like a dumbass, almost got raped into ahegao.

Another problem with Alps as a whole is that they actually force you to somewhat think because at one point you know that saucy tart was a man. A man who had this condition more or less thrust upon them due to romantic feelings in their heart for a member of the opposite sex (If I was reading the profile correctly). It's like having something completely and utterly taboo thrust upon you when society tells you that it's forbidden. So while you could have A-kun and B-kun, when A-kun meets B-ko he has to deal with the fact his best friend is now a literal semen demon.

Honest opinion? They're wholly ignorable and I sincerely hope there's some level of truth to the rumor mill that KC is considering dropping them from the MGE universe due to how polarizing of a species Alps have been for the longest time. But, who am I to dictate what people can and can't like, we have nearly 200 unique users in here with a variety of tastes and shit.

We already have Scottish MGs with Cu/Cait Sith, Merrow, and Selkies. While I won't speak for the quality of the first two, the others (from what I've seen are fine). Then you have some more horafying shit like Nuckelavee and Kelpies or even the dreaded Glaistig, which is basically a Pan Faun's bastard child with a Ghoul.
