I never really thought about it. I just see a design and I either like it a lot or I don't.

I've liked designs that are anywhere from Mantis level to Oomukade level and beyond ("bug" eyes, mouth parts, etc) Anything that doesn't make the character in question feel like they're totally incompatible with you really.
