Offer to volunteer for a season(or a couple days in a season if you do other work), its the easiest way to get your foot in the door.

Also if you know where one is going to be, check to see if it has a website like say Erebus does which stays up all year and email them during the summer.

Now I've made my quota of bad meta post for the week so back to halloween related touhou stuff.

I for one have nothing against a rude touhou thread but the OP image just seems a terrible way to start.
