As if hesitating Aunn seemed to collect her thoughts, “You know Anon-san was suppper happy after he got married and all, and Yukari-san would start visiting a whole lot more after that and all. Sometimes she’d even send in her Shikigami to check up on them during the winter and all but they’d be fine even though Reimu-san would insist on taking the gifts of food and stuff she brought.”

Her tail would’ve started wagging if she had one as she continued, “There was this one time where Reimu even chased around the fox saying, ‘next time bring sweets, we got tons of rice already! Do you think Anon slacks off or what?!’”

Letting out a carefree giggle Aunn’s eyes were beyond the kitchen, far beyond into the past. A past where she wasn’t born yet and everyone was happy enough to play without a care. The mood didn’t last long however, and with a bit of time as Aunn settled down before grabbing out clump of rice, her third, she spoke again, “Ah, but that’s when… well you know… Reimu-san started being a meanie too and it didn’t’ take long for everyone to stop coming…”

There was a sadness in her voice, a palpable and deep-seated sadness buried in her voice that was as present as the delightful smell of warm rice, “Lots of people stopped coming by then and all, only times they did and all was during incidents and stuff. Erm, I think the onis were the last to stop by and Kasen-sama and Yuuka-sama only came by to mess with Reimu-san or lecture her.”

Aunn just kind of messed with the ball of rice in her hands, not really shaping it but not putting it down again either, “When it was real bad at first Yukari-sama stopped coming by at all, well at least sometimes when Anon got real hurt there’d be donations but no one would come by, so it had to be her and all!”

Nervousness seemed to take the girl as she tried thinking things through, “Umm, but she always came by time after time, you know on times like during festivals and when Reimu first got pregnant…”

Hana shifted around uncomfortable as well, she would’ve told her to stop a long time ago due to how painful it was making her feel, but Hana needed to know the truth if she was to stop all this! She let Aunn continue, “You know, now that I think about it I guess it was kinda weird, cause before all… that happened and Reimu was all mean to everyone there was a time when Yukari-sama would come by to visit, but she’d always find Anon-san first. You know before she’d either hide where Reimu-san didn’t think to look or just did silly things like leaving stuff and gifts!”

Aunn nibbled on a piece of rice that fell off the ball of rice before continuing, “I guess sometimes I thought that it was weird cause Yukari-sama always came by to talk about business and stuff or tease Reimu-san. Though she’d always make sure to talk to Anon-san first… Maybe she was just trying to be nice or something? Cause even after she was told when Reimu come by on certain days she’d always take tea with him before Reimu-san came home”

Placing the last misshapen ball of rice on the wax paper and wrapping it up before finishing it into a cute little bowtie Aunn said the last bit of her recollection slowly enough, “You know, I think Yukari-sama liked talking to Anon a lot. She didn’t come around too much after you were born and all but, when she did, she liked to do the same things and stuff. Sometimes she’d even play with you, ah but you were really little and all so I don’t think you’d remember!”

A picture coming together in her mind Hana couldn’t help but asking one more question, “So you think what changed is that she liked talking to father more and stuff…? But why? I can’t imagine that monster wanting to talk with anyone longer than it took to rip their guts out!”

A curious expression came across Aunn’s face, “Yeah but she wasn’t always all mean and stuff, she was dumb and did dumb things like do stupid plans that made people in danger and all, but she wasn’t mean like that. Its like after you were born she tried messing with Anon more, even during the few years where Reimu-san started making friends again she’d always try to speak with Anon-san first and all.”

With one last bit of musing Aunn spoke, “If I had to say it’s cause Anon-san would always tell her nice things when she came over. Like he’d always smile to her and make all sorts of happy talk and stuff! Now that I think about it, Yukari-sama would sometimes change her outfits. Like changing the ribbons or her hat and stuff and no one but Anon-san would notice… Ah but that’s just normal isn’t it? So I still wonder why… Well its probably nothing cause Anon-san is nice like that with everyone!”
