No, not really. I guess I'm used to it. Most VN authors have some sort of issues with too slow pacing, usually spending too much time describing something fairly trivial.
I think R07's principal idea with Higurashi works really well when you're reading it for the first time. At least as long as you manage to stay immersed in it. You're looking for something out of place in the mundane SOL moments and anticipating when and how the shit hits the fan again. It loses that charm on re-reads.
