To make Aya fall in love with you, you need to slowly become part of her daily life.
But you need to do it slowly : if you're incorporated too quickly, she'll classify you as a friend and never think about it again. No, you need to be impossible to classify. Support her like a friend would do, but make sure you're missing often enough so that you're not entirely reliable.
That way, she'll be unable to decide what you are, and she will become interested in you. For the sake of her journal, she'll talk with you, but she will in fact ask very personal questions, like asking if you're taken, if you had a girlfriend, if you found a special person in the village or elsewhere.

If you mention that cute wolf girl working in the mountain, she'll tell you it's hopeless and that this one is "married to her job and her loyalty to Lord Tenma".

Yeah, but right now, I have a verbose Futo who sounds like she's trying too hard to sound educated by abusing strange sentence structure and devious choice of words, and the narrator sounds like he's from the Stanley Parable. That makes the main character bland as hell.
Through given the player is supposed to identify himself to the character, that may be a good thing, but I don't like the idea of playing Gordon Freeman in Gensokyo. I want that guy to have a personality.
