The police have evidence, or atleast they should have evidence. If what Maho said was true, there should be bruise marks on one of the suspects because he used his hand to stop the door from closing. Also they may have scratched the face of Maho when they tried to cover her mouth or Maho scratched them when she fought back, the police should have documented any marks on body of both the perpetrators and Maho. Or they could even check the fingernails for evidence such as blood or tissue, they could even swab the fingernails for DNA evidence. If anything, the police did a shody job or they might even be bribed by management, I don't mind the police investigators being fired for this.
