What about employing some more magical methods in humiliation? For example, every time she frustratedly whines because of some intellectual failure, have her grow more physically cat-like! It's a vicious cycle; the more meaningless whining she makes, the more she approaches a state where she can do nothing but meaninglessly whine! When it all comes to completion, make a koto out of her gut and play Azure Jeer on it! Then transform her back into her original shape all over again in a new fragment and start fresh!
I'd also like to set her up in a situation where she's presented with an endless quantity of Bernkastel's favorite foods, as well as a facsimile of Bern kindly telling her to eat up... but whenever Erika gets full, or shows reluctance to eat, the Bern-illusion is disgusted, hurt, and angry with her. She might just eat until she burst! Otherwise, she'd be stuck with her beloved, beloved master's verbal abuse going on, and on, and on!
Another good setup would be creating a mystery for her to arrive at as the detective, with the twist that whenever she goes to examine some clue, or crime scene, or piece of evidence, the sense associated with that examination grows duller. In the end, totally blinded to the world around her, she'd never have the faintest hope of reaching the truth; even if it were a perfectly solvable case!
