As a KC fan I've rarely seen them interpreted that way. The darkest I've ever seen is them being giant or EVA-like minus being piloted and wearing an armoured suit. It's usually possession, artificially grown/enhanced, but rarely anything Golem or Automaton-like

Abyssals count, but it's just a matter of eating up images using them since there is a KC general (regardless of how much poor taste people there have concerning them). Fortunately people on danbooru are a lot more open-minded and discussing artwork/stories is much more than that stats and grinding!
