I'll give a little advice to make it funnier, everytime you found a word you have a hard time remembering you can:
1. set google japanese (If not, you may get chinese results)
2. Look for images about that word (To make a mental image of that word)
3. (optional step) there's so much fanwork out of some fandoms that that you can pretty much type almost every word do:
Example: " 東方　「word」" and get a funny ilustration with your favorite characters about that word.
