PC98 had some top-tier monsterhus. Evil Eye Sigma, YuugenMagan, Shingyoku, and Sariel/Konngara were all fantastic.

Sometimes it feels as if the PC98 characters are more youkai-like than the actual youkais.

I recall hearing some oldish news that ZUN once did a poll asking whether people preferred Konngara or Sariel, and that Konngara won.

Is this true, or am I just going senile? Not like either of them are ever going to appear in a modern game anyways
