You misremember on spellbreak. It states "However, to dispel a spell requires as much mana as is being used by that spell, or perhaps even more." Nothing about "way more mana."

For that matter, its not even about having as much mana as the caster has in total, but rather about having enough to match the amount of mana she is using for the spell itself.

I don't think we know her status one way or another. And, unusual as it may be, some monsters do have a fair amount of sex before finding the guy they want (or use alternate methods of powering up, like mana potions). That said, power is also influenced by parentage, powerful parents have powerful children, and indeed unless the parents are god-tier the child typically becomes more powerful than the parents.
