Does /jp/ have any tips for playing visual novels?
I play them but fall asleep after a while. I can usually read books with no problems, so I what can I do to stay awake? Is there a way to sit properly or anything?

I've never played an e-game before, and I know little to nothing about them. I want to play FSN and the sequel (in english, obviously). Where would I download the games? Do I need a certain program to run them?

So I just started reading through the Heaven's Feel route. I liked Fate and UBW for the most part. They were hectic, wild, fun, and romantic all at the same time. The issues they dealt with were serious, but they were meaningful and heroic. There was a sense of righteousness, that in the end everything would turn out okay. Maybe not exactly as planned, but it was always peaceful.

I went into HF with that mindset. Holy shit.

I'm on day 12, and I've been feeling miserable lately. Goddamnit this is all so fucking depressing. Is there any sort of happy end? Seriously /jp/, no huge spoilers, I just need to know if I'll ever be able to feel happy again.

Oh, and while I was typing this, I thought of another question. In Shirou's dream where he's having sex with Rin, why does Rin have Rider's mystic eyes at the end? Crazy dream logic, or just magic?

Well now, can anyone explain me why is it called FATE STAY NIGHT ?

So, is it just me, or FS/N voice acting was overall horrible ?

Why the actual FUCK does this VN make no sense at all?

Whenever there's a fight scene, Masters literally just stand and watch. And do nothing, while Servants for some inexplicable reason PRIORITIZE KILLING SERVANTS INSTEAD OF MASTERS.

I mean for fucks sake, take the first Berserker fight. Shirou and Rin just stand there gaping stupidly while Zerker, who could have easily lopped both their heads off in a single sweep, fights Saber instead! Saber is of nearly zero threat to him, and why is there such a strong emphasis on making out that "killing Masters is the most effective method to win" when nobody fucking does it?

Worst of all, Shirou and Rin could have AT LEAST attacked Illya.

Stuff like this is seriously irritating me, and if the fight scenes are supposed to be so goddamn epic (to make up for the excessive filler), then they could at least try to not make it so bloody unbelievable.

The reason F/SN gets so much hate isn't because it's popular, nor is it because it's outright bad.

It's that it's decent overall, with a couple of really high points, but quite a lot of lows as well, and numerous other flaws, BUT; It is touted as fucking incredible and is immensely overrated by it's fanbase.

If Type-Moon fans started admittedly the flaws in the work then there'd be less hate threads and descents into trolling.

So I torrented the game, and then I downloaded the patch from Mirror Moon. I ran the patch.

Nothing happened.

So do you actually need the installer, or can you just do it with the patch?
