Explore ancient ruins, hunt mamono realm beasts, fight in huge gladiatorial tournaments. There's tons of adventure to be had in the MGE world, it's just more fun than deadly.

You're not gaining squid genes though, just like a mermaid is not gaining human genes if she transforms her tail into human legs. It's a magical transformation, something that's well accepted in many RPG settings as not changing your species.

Take dragons in D&D. They do not cease to be dragons simply because they may choose to polymorph into a human form for decades at a time.

Heck, even in the real world a change in ability or form does not on its own make you into a new species, or else any animal that undergoes metamorphosis or otherwise changes a great deal as it grows would change species multiple times in one life.

Dragon family monsters don't "overcome it" so much as have the ability to temporarily ignore the "be humanoid" effect (the other effects remain). And they expressly can do this because of how powerful their own mamono mana is. You say "even wyverns" as if wyverns are weak, but they are quite powerful monsters in their own right, just not as strong as vanilla dragons (while being faster and more maneuverable than them).

>Manifestation of the old form

>In peacetime, the female dragons of Dragonia, using magical power, can turn into the form of a giant dragon from the era of the former rulers of demons. In fact, you can observe this reincarnation throughout Dragonia. But, as mentioned earlier, you can make sure that the heart of dragons in contact with a man is the heart of a girl in love, although the very resistance to this is called the "Sign of great power." For dragons, the appearance of a past era is the “form of power” they possess. And depending on the type, the girl will not want to manifest this form in front of someone other than her husband.

>Therefore, hoping for the transition of the dragon into the form of the era of the old rulers of the demons, only to look at it, can create a bad impression on the dragon. And she will require "I want to see you all" or vice versa this can be perceived as an impulsive recognition. In other words, the fact that you want to see the dragon with your own eyes in both forms is equal to the fact that “you assume all responsibility”, even if you are attacked by the dragon as excited as that — it will be your responsibility. Dragons are very careful in turning into their old look. In peacetime, girls brush their claws and wings as they increase in size. They look after the tail, the most expressive part of the body, polish the horns and spikes - the most expressive details that a person will pay attention to. All this to prove to him that they are attractive as a dragon.

I love the bit of culture (albeit varying by the individual) explained regarding their old forms.

Perhaps, though from what I recall its apaprently noted in the Dragonia book that true dragons only make up a minority of the population. Most of the inhabitants are monsters like wurms, wyverns, lizardmen, salamanders, as-yet-unreleased profile monsters like fire drakes, etc.

>Is any of Side I translated?

Quite a bit actually, though most of said translation I think is based on a Russian translation, so its not the smoothest of reads. http://monstergirlsredux.com/viewforum.php?f=13

When it comes to specific locations, you might be interested in the Dragonia stuff. Unfortunately, since KC was not the sole author MGR doesn't have permission to translate it, and thus all we have are rather hard to read translations by someone working off of Russian translations of the Japanese material.

There is zero sexual appeal, but I wouldn't deny that I'd love seeing a dragon family wife in her primal form for the sheer coolness factor.

Well there is a lot of potential inspiration. I take it you mean the primal form of a MGE dragon?

You can probably have a fair amount of leeway in the actual shape of the head, the key things would be to make sure certain features are shared in common with her humanoid form. Namely the same eye and scale color, the same ear and horn shape, etc.

Personally I prefer the sleek, streamlined sort of dragon head, like the wyvern here.

Even if no romance was involved, watching a dragon in her primal form, a kunoichi training, a mantis hunting, etc. would be fascinating.

So assuming this art is accurate to the main MGE world (Dragonia is a parallel thing rather than truly canon), even weaker dragons like wyverns can reach truly huge sizes in their primal forms.

So how big would you say the largest dragons are in such a state? Twice that size?

I can only imagine how intimidating/breathtaking it is to see one in person for the first time in such a form. I mean the eye alone of that wyvern seems about the size of a average man.

I like to imagine it is a special sign of trust for a ryu to show a man this form, since they tend to avoid it for fear of scaring people.

We talk a lot about how sweet or sexy dragons are as wives, but what about how just plain awesome they are?

I mean aesthetically I have always loved dragons, and having a wife that can change into a huge, monstrous form like that would just be something I'd want to show off as well as observe myself.

Indeed I would probably annoy her with how often I'd ask to see her transform.
