This talk of MGQ angels reminded me of the Paintgeist from the game. I think something like her would be very good for MGE, a painting or drawing that is possessed by a ghost and will trap their husband within the world of the painting, like dryads or mimics. Only this way she could literally be a 2d waifu, and the husband could spend time learning to paint or draw to improve her or the painting's world.
The idea of paintings being timeless snapshots of the artist's artistic vision could also be explored like it is in MGE by making the flow of time within the painting change in some way like with pandemonium.
