she likes kids

Look at how incredibly gentle her demeanor is when dealing with kids in the fox chapters. It's 100% abnormal Reimu

>Reimu vehemently dislikes the village
wat
She gets annoyed with them mainly because they (justifiably) fear her youkai-infested shrine. Does this look like a person who hates the village?
>arbitrarily aggressive
They're extraordinarily passive and mock the few who are aggressive.
>they have a tendency to become youkai
Not even true. This is extremely rare and always a HUGE deal when it happens.
>and unlike the villagers are remarkable in that they chose NOT to be Youkai when given the option
Most villagers have the option because becoming a magician is actually really easy. They do not take it.
>It's the villagers are less human than most humans
I'm not even sure what this is supposed to mean, but that they're friendly with some youkai isn't too crazy considering youkai don't attack them and tend to be civil. In fact, despite this, as we see in PMiSS a lot of them are still extremely wary of youkai.
>The person that accused Reimu of being a "youkai shrine maiden" literally turned himself into a youkai to extend his life and saw nothing wrong with it at all.
That was one person, and a confirmed criminal.

>taller than children and fairies
>"loli"
Short and flat, but that's about it.

I've said they're no longer aging already. And with Akyuu, it's not backstory as she's showed up early. And also the "backstory" is like 2 years behind the first windows game, so during EoSD they would conceivably still be children and I repeat, pic related. Not kids no more.

There's also the boobs to consider, but really, they're going to stay young to the conceivable future and that is not something I'm denying. Actually if anything I find it neat and interesting how you can trace development of the human characters in Touhou to a point. I don't know why this bothers people, because in the end it's just a subtle thing you can pick up. Also Touhou frequently brings up matters of aging and mortality of humans, so whether or not ZUN ultimately takes that to its natural conclusion, he still litters the series thematically with the idea of human impermanence and age.

>I'm talking about in reality
to be clear in regards to this, in fiction when you have the case of someone like Konata firstly this is, to my knowledge, impossible -- even the shortest, flattest grown women still aren't so short and curveless that they could truly, undoubtedly, be mistaken for children. In the realm of video games, manga, and anime you can ignore this cause nothing's real, and this even happens in Touhou with several non-human long-lived or immortal characters. They look like children, but are in fact very old. However Marisa is not a non-human. She's perfectly normal, and over time she has physically matured in her depictions just like Reimu to grow taller and a bit more maturely proportioned. The child we see in EoSD is not the (admittedly small) adult we see in HSiFS and works like FS.

And just to make it as clear as possible beyond whatever examples I've already given, here's not-Marisa, but a transformed fox masquerading as an identical Marisa alongside actual human children.

She's so good with kids. I kind of feel like she's one of those girls with a really soft spot for children, given her preferential treatment with KSZ. Not the fortune teller stuff, I mean with her calling Kosuzu-chan which is kind of out of the way for Reimu. I wish artists explored this possible big sister - little sister dynamic more.

While they don't, at this point Reimu and Marisa are definitely adults, young or otherwise.

I'm saying she protected Sumi out of genuine heroism. She outright says "I won't let a human die in front of me" (though she has).

In that instance it might've been "I can't ignore it if it's in front of my face" mixed with "gotta protect Gensokyo". Also, she likes youngins.
