Survival will depend on the game. Generally speaking though, it's good advice to move as little as you can so that your motion is more easily manageable. Even if the entire screen is covered in bullets, only the ones aimed at or around you are a threat, so don't panic.

Moving less will also make it easier to tell when bullets are aimed directly at you, in which case even a slight motion will render them useless (with the exception of the larger bullets whose hitboxes outrange your tapping, but those just need a faster tap.)

Know the scoring and extend systems of the game you're playing. EoSD has a one-up at static scores, which means it's in your best interest to hoard lives at the beginning when it's still easy to play for score, and learn where you can lay down a planned bomb to quickly destroy a group of enemies, leaving you with a cloud of point items and an empty screen to autocollect on.

PCB depends on the number of point items regardless of value, so it's more of the same but you also need to take into consideration your borders. Play around with parts you can easily do unfocused to see how far you can affect the time at which you get your border, and keep an eye on your cherry so you don't accidentally cancel one the second you get it.

IN has a lot of factors I don't feel like going into partially because I just really don't like it. I'm sure one of its fans can do a better job in my place, anyways.
