Honestly the whole pairing feels like some shit Kiara came up with while they were preparing for their debut. She knew that pairings help with popularity so she tried to find someone in EN that it would work with and I figure Mori just happened to be willing to go along with it. How many holos have really debuted with a set pairing planned out anyways? Most I can really think of off the top of my head were OkaKoro and MAYBE Fubuki and Mio(because both pairings literally already knew each other for a long time)

I don't even have problems with other concepts for collabs people have and existing combinations like FBK and Roberu are perfectly fine. It really depends on how much the people in the collab are aware of what NOT to do. Like people don't care if Subaru collabs with Maimoto, but if Maimoto started actively hitting on her and Subaru seemed to not mind and it started coming across as romantic, you can bet your ass that all of Subaru's fans would immediately turn on the guy. It's fine to be friendly with each other, it's fine to have normal conversations, and it's fine to be professional, but it's important to know the limits, which is something people think none of the Holostars are aware of, which is what turns people off completely from the idea when in the case of 8/10 of the holostars, they're either unable to flirt(like Astel or Izuru) or know the line like Roberu.

I think it should be dealt with before then, especially since this exact thing was what made people so antagonistic towards the holostars in the beginning. It was only a few months ago that Roberu actually cried on stream talking about the backlash they received and comparing it to a similar situation that happened with Idolm@ster and how fans were worried they would start pairing the girls with male idols and how he made a big point that the stars would have to work hard to completely change their image if they were to ever be accepted. Being flirty with the girls on stream is not helping that and if it's left unchecked, will completely diminish the efforts any of the boys went through to get out of the hate they received starting out that TriNero didn't have to deal with.
