I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't already been seriously attempted dozens of times RPGMaker-style, with most of them fizzling out in relative obscurity as one or a few devs either were dissatisfied with their work or lost interest over time.
And I don't say that to be depressing - someone can still come along and do it any time - but even if you have experience in developing games and worldbuilding, you'd need to put a lot of effort into turning the themes and aesthetic into a definite, compelling scope.
Not even the Touhou Project proper has ever really attempted that kind of holistic world-building outside of text publications, AFAIK.

What is your least favorite print work, and why? Specifically, why is your least favorite Alternative Facts in Eastern Utopia?

I just finished reading this this morning, what did you think of it?

I thought some of the articles and pictures were really charming, the tabloid set up is fun and I can't believe Yoshika is dead. The political allegories and commentary was a little heavy handed though, and more prominent than I expected, and now 4 years later already feels dated and old.

I don't understand how the pin ups made it into the book though. Also there were touhous that weren't in the book that I wish were and could have fun tabloid articles written about of.

That's because she's not really a tabloid journalist. This isn't even me going AIDF, the Bunbunmaru was never a tabloid, the one time she decided to go full tabloid she ditched the idea because she knew it was full of shit. One can argue that she sensationalizes stuff, but sensationalism is only one aspect of a tabloid, and from the articles we've been able to read so far, her journalism is pretty solid, despite how unconventional they are because they read more like journal entries. Doesn't help that whenever there's a canon statement about her exaggerating shit, it suffers from heavy "show don't tell", and it's usually coming from other characters (Mainly Akyuu in PMiSS and Mamizou in FS) so it ain't really the most reliable of info.
