Hana often didn’t care for the more roundabout methods of doing things, she’d have rather walked right into the reception area and break down the door to Yukari’s office if she had business. She didn’t like sneaking and subtle things like that, only resorting to them when she had too. Something she had to do often it seemed, her weakness was obvious to even her, when it came to the powerful like Yukari she had no choice to do what she must. Well that and, there’s simply no way she’d just saunter up to the front desk and loudly tell the world her purpose, she didn’t have the fortitude of her mentor.

What must she do now? Well it was nothing she cared to do at least, every now and then that reporter tengu that helped make her life a living hell would come by and drop a bundle of food. According to Aunn, who watched from the miniature Komainu statue sitting in the mouth of the alley by their home, she’d drop by at least every other day at almost the same time. Apparently, she’d drop the parcel at the door, knock a few times, then leave in a flash once she heard someone coming to the door.

Why did she need that birdbrained nuisance? The answer was simple, there was no way in hell she’d venture into the HSE willingly and she couldn’t arrange a meetup during one of the, now at least, bluemoon visits with her mentor. That fox never left that building through normal means either, Hana knew since she often watched that building during the closing time and observed just about all kinds of kappa and tengu leave. Among their numbers was never the fox nor gap youkai herself, the solution was obvious in that they either lived there or simply used their gaps to get around. Hana was betting on the latter.

The only way to get in contact with that damned fox or even the gap hag herself was simple, she’d shake down the bird to get to the fox to get to the hag. Surely, if anyone knew where Ran went off too it’d be her, and the time she dropped her package was the only time she’d be able to find her. Aya had as of recent times, rarely been spotted in the village itself anymore, meaning that this was the only viable moment she’d nab her. Plus, you couldn’t beat that home turf advantage

Setting her ‘trap’ carefully, which in reality was merely her waiting by inside a broom closet. She stood inside her home along the ‘shortest’ path to the front porch and waited for Aunn to give the signal. Hana would slow her down with a seal to bind her movements before Aunn’s two bodies would restrain the dastardly bird with their strength. It wasn’t a perfect plan, but that’d never been Hana’s strong suit anyways…

Hana’s heart thumped in her chest, the little closet she was sequestered away in was stuffy as it could be, but if she just walked ‘forward’ from here after letting the world squeeze she could be beyond the front door in less than a second. Aya was fast, she knew that well from the times she saw her mother chase her off the shrine grounds, or when she dropped a paper in a dive before flying off without a trace.
