Oh yeah they're totally desperate. That's why the month of March was filled with male reruns, 2/3 of which were being rerun for the 5th time. And the one new Servant they released in over a month? A non-limited, because of course those bring in more money than limiteds. They're shaking in their boots right now. Releasing content that whales can't gamble for, like FGO's own Carnival Phantasm and Tsukihime remake without announcing a FGO collab, is the way they found to remedy this problem. And when they released Shirou and beat every other gacha game in the market in profits again? That made them even more scared, that's why their content release has dried up since January. When Nasu said "I'm tired of making content for FGO" and "please stop playing FGO if you're tired of waiting for content, then come back when there's content"? He was just trolling. In truth he was desperately asking for players to get hype and keep playing and spending.
FGO is truly reclining.
