Most of the difficulty of the game is concentrated in stage 5 and Rin; practice the first four stages and build up resources to burn there. There are also strats to make it easier. During the stage sections with the big spirits in the center of the screen, don't shoot and you won't have to dodge revenge bullets. You can skip Cat's Walk entirely. Not all of her spell cards are as bad as they seem.

Cleared Mountain of Faith with all shot types on Normal and Extra with ReimuB. I'm slowly noticing my ability to clear all normals + one Extra of these games getting quicker (as they start to take over all my free time):

EoSD: a little over a year (started as a total scrub)
PCB: 27 days
IN: 24 days
MoF: 13 days

Currently starting SA and it's kicking my ass. I finally made it up to Okuu today but I've only used ReimuA. I'm not looking forward to Orin and Okuu's stage portions without gapping. Reposting this image that saved my life out of thanks and hoping it can help others.

There are alternatives to these strategies if they aren't working for you.
For example, on Zombie Fairy the fairies can be lured to the top of the screen and you can then rush to the bottom and stay there somewhat safely.
On her last non-spell I find it easier to enter through the side in the circle than to enter through the narrow hole in the front of the circle.

Some kind anon made this, which should help you a bit, but yeah, she's still pretty tough. On the bright side, the first four stages are quite easy, so you should be able to get to Rin with almost full lives and just bomb through her, then have enough lives left to relax for Okuu's fight. Keep at it.
