If I use a dual glove against a named NPC, will I still get the precious items they drop if you kill them normally?

Not him obviously but I was just about to quit Elona a few weeks back but then I whimsically decided to start over except this time in overdose mode. All of the tiring grind has been reduced and has even become enjoyable and my interest in the game renewed as if I just started playing Elona. It was getting stale but overdose literally saved me. I've been getting less time I could spend playing since I have a job now and I'm very thankful that overdose exists, wish I found about it sooner.

Then you experience mid-late game, which brings you back to the slow grinding days. Even if it's 20 times the exp the game "catches" up with you at one point.
