Because she's a human being parasitized by a demon sword, I only gave her armor on one side of her body, to represent progressing erosion of her humanity.

From that point, her rough design was fairly trivial.

When I continued with rough coloring, I first gave her yellow pupils, as well as a black and red color scheme. I also tried two-tone hair, half-black and half-white, which gave her a quite different impression. The decorations around the upper half of her body were also quite different.
