So I was looking at this and it gave me an idea, because something like this (a scented disinfectant) seems both practical and necessary.

Couldn't find the ingredients of the stuff, but tons of regular chemicals have disinfectant properties. The problem comes with mixing them with other chemicals.

Everything would have to be food or medical grade, but maybe a home made type of solution could be something like:

filtered water
hydrogen peroxide
a little isopropyl alcohol
an aromatic oil like lavender or some such

I know the oil won't mix with the other fluids readily but I think there's some way to bind them all together.
