Well ideally you wouldn't really see the blood much at all, I think a lot of art makes a vampire's bite way too messy and wasteful. A vampire wants to drink your blood, not let a bunch of it flow off you to the ground.

I imagine an MGE vampire makes fairly small, very pleasurable, incisions and then sucks at the wound, barely spilling a drop unless she intends to for the sake of a fetish.
