Not entirely surprising. Most kingdoms probably aren't on the same level of crusading as the Order, and there are plenty of girls who would make good battle couples. Hell, I'd wager some countries make a tradition out of it for their honor guard.

If you do it right, you should have more than enough saved up to support your daughter. At worst, you just take on occasional small contracts, things that don't require a two person team.

I could see it being used for ceremonial reasons. Their riders were knights in the old days who had to best them to bed them, so maybe they still commission some sort of ceremonial regalia for when they get married. I'd totally be down for that.
