Mahjongfag here. /mjg/ still seethes at the mention of vtubers (which is ironic because they basically singlehandedly saved the client we play on) but I really hope she's able to bounce back. The holos/nijis probably attracted more players overall but Sio was really the only big one who streamed it as her main game and her streams were always really chill with her commentary on her decision making being really insightful.
