Ame's rail system is a good start, but it has a few mistakes.

You want a few powered rails at the beginning to push you to max speed. It takes about 4 powered rails to do this.
A button will flash the power on and off quickly, so if all 4 of these rails are together you can get the power turned off on you. That's why it's better to have 1 or 2 powered rails connected to the button, and then 3 or 4 "always on" rails a bit further away.

Once you've reached max speed you really don't need that many powered rails, you can spread them out by like 30 blocks to keep you coasting.

There's also lots of interesting stuff you can do with railroads and redstone. You can build complicated circuits that automatically switch tracks and stuff like that. Imagine when you pull into your home,

They probably are welcome, but I think if they joined the JP server it would count as a collab of sorts if anyone else was online. Not an official one of course, but I think they're supposed to not interact with the JP girls on stream until their non-gen collab ban is over.
