Keep drawing they said. That's the only way you'll get better they said. I've been drawing for 14 years now. 14. Far longer if you count my childhood when I also drew a lot because I was fond of it. Today I have nothing to show for it.

My advice: make art friends and draw with others better than you and learn from them. Drawing alone is about as pointless as self-training with no experience/guide to become a professional kung fu master.

NO. I'm not self-deprecating to fish for more compliments either. If you take drawing seriously and compete against a simpleton like me, you'd easily be able to reach my level and surpass it.

I'm not like one of the actual good artists here on /jp/ who seem so unreachable (like magister and the guy who draws things in the style reminiscent of miyazaki)

It could be fun if we rival, you know. What do you say?
