One thing I've never understood about this image are the claws. Big cats have retractable claws, not these massive daggers sticking out from their toes.

It's a hunting instinct - go for prey that can't see you. IIRC bigcatrescue takes in, well, big cats that have been kept/raised as pets so the cats can be affectionate, but it's pretty much impossible to get them to ignore instinct.

Basically they'd maul you just as much as they'd want to play with you.
