I get what you mean but I don't think people play gacha for that reason. As much as people like to shit on gacha for having "no gameplay" there are other reason to like gacha.
i.e you might like the series enough to play with characters from that series even if the gameplay is barebones.
For example I doubt Pekora plays Dragon quest mobage because it has sick gameplay, she just loves the series so it is fun to play with characters from it and so on.

She just did some interaction with overseas fan during her reading, said Hello in Russian and then some cringe EOP/ESL Supad that; "He wants her to be the first girl to hold hands with" to which she denied him because she is an idol and that he can do it during a handshake event(Which they don't have).
After that she just "thought" them how to say "こにちは" "Pekora kawaii" "Pekora banzai".
Then she said she'd do some Japanese teaching in the next stream but hilarious enough she said this in Japanese and didn't repeat it in English, probably because she doesn't know the word for teaching in English.
