I find it interesting that her stuff has been in cinemascope more than once. Clearly someone at Cover feels there's a strong association between pirates and film.

What would the plot of a film based around Marine be? A horny drunk pirate trying to win her ship back in a card game?

I think Marine's 3D debut was pretty good too, especially in regards to the complexity of water you can see in the background during the photo session, it's foaming at the peaks of the waves, reflecting the light of the sky, and refracting Marine when she's wading in it (not especially accurately of course, but it is live at 60fps after all). They seem like they were pretty proud of it what with the cinematic letterbox that comes in to frame it. I also really like the verisimilitude the handheld camera lends it but obviously that isn't limited to this stream...

Also if you go back to the beginning you can see the sheer amount of polygons making up the island with the amount of trees that are on it. Although the concert part towards the end definitely pales in comparison to Suisei's.
...also personally, I dislike the weird proportions of Marine's model, she reminds me of that female gremlin in Gremlins 2.
So I'd say they've taken it up a notch since the turn of the year. Even now they're hiring people with experience in Unity, so I'd expect the quality to only increase.
