I recorded using:

ffmpeg -f x11grab -show_region 1 -video_size 1027x768 -framerate 25 -i :0.0+170,0 /tmp/out.mp4

That ran in the background while I did a sleep for 4 hours after which the process was killed.

Reading your and >>39562936 posts, maybe I should record in shorter intervals instead of a massive one. ffmpeg hasn't given me quality problems before, but I've always used it to record only a few minutes of video.
