Is it just me, or is Ina's art kind of... dead? Dull? Perhaps soulless?
It is good yes, but only in technicality, there's nothing about it that sort of makes it "pop" to me. It's like, it's so technically good, that it struggles to leave the real and haven't quite reached the stylized appeal of anime. They've come to be like wax statues, placed and posed against a false background and rendered with an anime filter. Unlike what it should be, a window into another, living anime world.
It's like the perfect imitation of the anime artstyle, fine to virtually all, but a nagging feeling of offness to a nigh-nonexistent some. I feel like she's not drawing anime, but is only drawing in the likeness of anime, if that makes sense.
Compared to other anime artists, say Ui for example, whose pieces are vibrant, dynamic, and very much alive, unique, and certainly anime, Ina's are just lacking something, something that can be perhaps described as soul, the final piece to the puzzle.

Even now, looking at her current Kokkoro drawing and Etern*l R*di*nce, it seems the only thing that really changed is the usage of saturated colours. It's still stiff, dull(not the art term), and soulless. Just look at the mini Carl, she looks to be struggling and doing the >_< face, yet it doesn't FEEL like she is, only physically is.

Maybe I just need to take my meds.
