The shitposting was always there even before the holos started getting really popular back in mid 2020, but it was harmless shit between educated weebs on a 4chan board. This general even did some good back in the days when the Towa shitstorm started, a lot of people from this general supported her on stream and on the thread, I hated how they spammed about her all day long, but it was fun. Sadly now most of the people on /hlg/ are weebs (the bad kind) from twitter and discord, they want to be the cool kids so they post doxxing shit that everybody know (mods don't even bother deleting this stuff anymore) and spam the chats with shit the vtubers can't even read because It's in english. Of course It's in the interest of Cover and the girls that the EOPs stay around, so I get why they are pandering to them.
The only reason I keep coming here is because I have really good memories in this place. I really started learning japanese back in 2019 because some of the people on this thread motivated me and now I can watch stream without relying on the others for translation (thanks god because today everyone is trying to make money from clips by making shitty speedsubs, far is the era where not monetizing holos clips was a rule between translators)
