She's just way to desperate for some form of acceptance, especially after the rough patch she had at the start. All that hugbox is gonna do is make her more susceptible to the harsh shit people say to her.

I don't think that she does't have any appeal, but it's that her appeal is more in line with the Japanese audience as opposed to the English one.
Honestly as dumb as it sounds, her strength is honestly in how blind she is to most games and genres, combined with her willingness to push on and learn despite being naturally shit. Her preserving though her own problems and not managing to go full toxic gremlin like Watson is honestly such a great feeling.
