Western tales may lack fox women, but foxes tend to be treated as a bane all the same. We have multiple tales about them eating chickens, stealing eggs or contributing to killing every antropomorphic animal after fooling them.
Do you remember Chicken Little? The 2005 film about a kid that tries to convince everyone the sky is falling? It's based in a far older WW2 tale, based on a medieval fable. About a chick that is fooled by a fox that the sky is falling and then the fox manipualtes the entire town to eat them ALL.
This is because regardless of east or west foxes are a big problem for farmers and food production, which manifested as the folk tales passed forward
