No, I think one great thing about Umineko is the way it interlinks all the trauma of the characters such that it's had to isolate just one bad actor. Even Kinzo was a man whose youth had been taken from him by his family, and spent much of his later life trying to preserve and recreate the one time, and the one woman, that let him feel like his own person. I think it's partly why seeing him show open affection for his grandchildren in EP8, rather than resenting his 'official' family for what they represent even two generations down the line, is such a powerful and affecting moment.

I wish we could have seen Maria and Kinzo bond over their love of the occult.
