Ryukishi intended Takano to be Lambda Delta from the very start, but then when fans said "Hey, is that Rika and Takano?" in Umineko he for some god forsaken reason decided to go "no, lol red herring" when everything about lambda points to her being takano.

Ryukishi just makes shit up as he goes along and then when someone predicts what he has in store for the next chapter/story, he scrambles to rewrite everything that was predicted to something completely different that makes no sense considering the previous work he did for that story.
