fumos are fotogenic and soft. You can hug and sleep with them and take fotos of nature, food etc. The only use for funko pops is taking photos of your ugly mug with them. They don't look appealing and are awful decoration pieces as opposed to fumos.
Secondly funko pops are made from consumerist mainstead media like marvel movies and celebrities while fumos are based off of one man's doujin work. Which is a very fun and challenging bullet hell game series has lots of interesting characters.
But still there will always be retards that cling onto a "trend" not because they appreciate characters and like the games, but because they want to copy other people and gain clout in their online hugboxes and circlejerks. With social medias, this retardation becomes herd psycology and can even (somefuckinghow) give weight to mentally ill people catching onto the "trend" and ruining public perception on the subject
