no, his argument is circular, and terrible, and the sample of one he offers is ridiculous not only on its insufficiency, but it prima facia falls apart as its merely "trust me bro" stupidity.
fact: most people think kanji is the hard part of japanese, theres millions and millions of sites saying that, and wanikani, rtk, and the whole flashcard industry flow from 1 assumption people who do not know anything make: "if i could read the kanji, i could learn japanese, just as i learned <insert language here>.
now everyone here knows that that is ludicrous, what makes japanese hard is that its a heavenly language passed down by amaterasu; and which is completely unlike any other language on earth. hand someone a sheet of romaji and theyll be no less lost than if you handed them a sheet of cunnyform runes.
No, the way you learn japanese is by immersing it it enough that your mind gets in synch with that of the kami, namely, amaterasu. ways to do that are myriad: the moans of her daughters, asmr, movies, anime, vbijin, whatever.
in other words, rtk is merely procrastination that doesn't do anything but delay the real, unavoidable, and time consuming hurdle of submerging your head in japanese until it fills your lungs, repeatedly, in hopes some of it sticks.
