I've always assumed that like more accomplished slimes they can solidify their lower body and look pretty much normal at will (beyond being a bit wet).

We know how most of them taste:

https://monstergirlencyclopedia.miraheze.org/wiki/Slime_Jelly

>Slime: Refreshing, distinctive taste.

>Red slime: Similar to slime but a bit sweeter.

>Bubble slime: Sweet and sour, highly addictive, potentially toxic if you try to steal it instead of negotiate for it.

>Dark slime: Thick taste, melting sweetness. Very concentrated with mamono mana.

>Nureonago: Also called nureonago mochi. Slightly sweet, springy texture.

>Humpty egg: Similar in taste to eggs, very nutritious but causes overproduction of semen.

Shoggoth: Indescribable in Japanese or English. Shoggoths will not let anyone except their husband or a prospective husband eat their jelly.

Passing for a normal human seems to be pretty difficult for most slimes, given how even the nurenogago needs rain to help her be fully convincing. They can change shape freely but slime aspects remain. Presumably using the anthropomorphosis spell can circumvent this.

They can fake it.

Heck, shoggoth can probably outright produce mofu.

>I dunno if it was a thread canon thing, but I remember hearing something with slimes(?) where if their slime isnt touching a living being it just evaporates

On that note, it is canon that mana shed in a particular location will dissipate into the atmosphere over time if not stabilized by a spell (i.e. mana marker), so in monsters where their slimy covering is pretty much just really condensed mana (i.e. gazer) then that idea would indeed apply.

For slimes though it'd be different, it'd be more like they could freely reabsorb whatever they shed. Plus if nureonago is any indication, they can by will alter the consistency/stickiness of their slime to keep it from getting other surfaces wet or sticky.

Let us take a moment to appreciate the amazing control nureonago have over the moisture in their bodies, that despite being made of slime they can clean and cook without getting anything wet.

You don't need to have a severe skin condition to hug a slime.

The best slime wears clothes anyway.
Anybody have the bonus art of her cooking?
