I personally recommend original audio and subtitles for your language, even if the CR dub is kind-of a mess of not knowing how to translate some things like how Cellurians got translated as Cerulean because the first one we see is blue, and one name being replaced from how it translates to how it sounds because [???], and so on. Still, i think the japanese VA's sound better and more fitting than the english ones for the official dub
After that, if you want to be angry, read up on the drama between Yoshizake Mine (creator of the IP) and Kadokawa (holder of rights) vs Yaoyorozu (studio who made s1) and Tatsuki (director of s1) and watch as much s2 as you can handle with this context in mind, but that's also not required

congrats, you now "got into" Kemono Friends. For further material, there's the S1 guidebooks that show more behind the scenes stuff and also lore that explaining won't fit into the anime, the official S2 manga, which retells the story of S2 without any bad parts, the unofficial +i chapters by Quick Waipa which continues from S1 in an imaginary direction, and KF3, a new mobile game with 3d models and mostly the same structure as the first game (you're park ranger with animal girls and you defend park from threats) but it's not the same exact story. The game has a general on /vg/ and they answer questions regarding the entire history of KF too, but the general's going though an episode of spam, drama, and assorted unfriendlyness, so discretion is advised
