/jp/ - Otaku Culture

I stopped going to 4chan. I was here from 2005 to 2013. I didn't know anything about vtubers. I searched for "okay boomer" on youtube, and that took me to Gura's old youtube channel, which led me to her new channel. I've been addicted every since (I think Gura is a gateway drug). I immediately knew this vtuber phenomena would dominate otaku culture, so I said, "I bet /jp/ is discussing this" and surely enough the first thread I see on 4chan in 7 years is a hololive en thread. You guys are predictable.

The funny thing is, girls were doing this shit for decades now. Like every female artist on deviantart/tumblr had a 2d persona and some of the more skilled ones made animated flash versions of their personas and voiced them on youtube. I actually dated one of said girls back when 3d pig disgusting was a thing, but she bated me in with her 2d persona. tldr I was simping and fucking vtubers before you younglings knew it existed.
