There's no reason to hate on the steam version so much. Sure the art is... questionable. But you can always just stick with the original art, or get it patched if PS3 stuff is more your style. The translation is also good, and most importantly it finally gives western audiences a chance to actually support the VNs by buying them officially.

In terms of bad adaptations, we've had far worse.
