Finished RuiTomo.

I wasn't really able to make myself like the extremely hyperactive eccentric characters and running gags, plus the sometimes snail pace main plot wasn't that special either and in general the game left me with a pretty lukewarm impression. There's only so many times you can repeat "friendship and mutual trust put to the test" drama before it starts to get boring, and in my opinion each route revealed too little to warrant their length or spent too much time dilly-dallying around before the characters discovered the previous routes' twists again.

I already guessed Megumu's regeneration ability when she was "killed" in Atori's route and considering how much screen time the game gave to Koyori's sister's corporation and made a big deal about Yenfei's connections I was expecting some awesome final route with great twists only for it to end up being simply about the friends fucking finally convincing Megumu to co-operate with them and remove the curse together. By that point instead of some big catharsis I was just glad the game was finally over.

Is the fan disc sequel notably better or something? It felt the main game still left some bigger hanging plot threads and some proper payoff would be nice, but it seems the story restarts from main game's common route part yet again and I'm probably going to shoot myself if the new routes end up being just more of the same.
